In the wild lions only live in Africa.

• Habitat

You can find them in the tropical forests but they prefer to stay and live in the open area of the savannah.

• Behaviour

Lions live in groups, led by a male lion. They hunt at night. Only the lioness hunts and brings the meat back to the male and cubs. They are fed the same as the Tiger.
A lion reaches its sexual maturity at an age of between 24 and 3 months. The gestation period is 100 to 108 days. Like the tiger the litter of the lion contains two to four cubs. The average lifetime of the lion is around 25 years. Since 1964, the lions in the Hanoi Zoo have been living and breeding succesfully.
