• Distribution
They are found from northwest Africa all across the Middle East into eastern Europe.
• Habitat
The Eurasian Griffon has adapted to a wide range f habits from rainforest, evergreen forest and mangrove swamp to grassland and rocky country. They are found in mountainous areas as well in big flat open areas.
• Behaviour
The Eurasian Griffon is a rapacious bird which means it only eats dead meat. This is different from most of the other bird species. This is very good for the environment because they clean up the area. In the Hanoi Zoo the Eurasian Griffon is fed all kind of meat like beef, pork and chicken. They live in big flocks of 20 to 100 couples. This bird is a non-migration bird which means that it will not go to another place when the season is changing. The Eurasian Griffon has a very long lifetime, they can live up until 55 years. The bird in Hanoi arrived on December 1995.
