TURACOS – Musophagidae White-cheeked Turaco Tauraco leucotis
This animal lives in Erithrea, Ethiopia and southeastern Sudan. All more than 20 species of Turaco live in Africa. White-cheeked Turaco lives in apirs or family groups and move quickly through the tree and bushes of near watercourses. The nest is a rather thick platform of twigs very loosely put together like the nest of a pigeon. Mostly two, sometimes three eggs are laid wich will hatch after 22 days of incubation. Sometimes the female of the previous clutch assists the parents in raising her young. All green Turacos like the White-cheeked Turaco eat fruits and berries and sometimes some insects. The call of the Turacos is loud and melodious and can be heard often in the morning or before sunset.
