STORKS - Cinoniidae Black Stork Ciconia nigra
These birds live in east Europe and in Asia and during the wintertime they immigrate to the south, sometimes they appear in the north of Vietnam. This bird has a strong longirostrate and long shanks. The hind toe of this animal is not developed and between the fore toes they have a little narrow membrane. Their wings are long and wide and the colors of the feathers are the same for a male and a female. They can fly very well but they swim and run very bad. They are monogamous animals and they built their nest on a big tree or brush near the water. The male searches the materials but the female is building the nest. They lay two to six eggs in a brood which can incubate for 17 to 32 days. In Hanoi Zoo they are fed insects, fish and frogs.
