• Distribution
The Red Jungle Fowl is found in the northwest of Vietnam all up to Thailand and Birma.
• Habitat
This bird is adapted to a wide range of habitats from tropical rainforest, evergreen forest and gassland to bamboo forest and dry deciduos forest.
• Behaviour
The Red Jungle Fowl lives in a flock. The way of living like this in a subgroup led by a male. This bird is mainly active during the whole day looking for food. In the wild this bird eats all kind of nuts, fruits and worms. In the Hanoi Zoo they are fed the same, but sometimes they get some cereals and rice as well. The breeding season is in March, they make simple nests on the ground in groves of brushes. They lay 5 to 10 eggs which can incubate in 18 to 20 days. Hanoi Zoo is very proud to have these beautifull birds.
