• Distribution
These newts are narrow distributed and only found in Tam Dao, Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho in Vietnam. It can live in areas up to 900 meters.
• Habitat
They live in freshwater streams and pools.
• Behaviour
The Tam Dao newt spends much of its time in fairly deep fresh water. They eats worms, all kind of insects, spiders, small froggs and tadpoles. The breeding season is in March and April. The eggs are laid in moss and in injurious water weed. The eggs can incubate for 15 to 30 days.
This newt is only found in one place of the world. Hanoi Zoo has bred these animals in captivity and they are working very hard to protect this newt.
